An Authorization to Return to Canada (ARC) is a document that permits a person who is deemed inadmissible to Canada to enter the country under certain circumstances. For example, individuals who have been deported, have a removal order in effect or have overstayed their authorized stay in Canada may require an ARC to return. The application process involves completing a form, providing supporting documents, and paying a processing fee. A visa officer will review the application and determine if the person is admissible and an ARC should be granted. However, an ARC is not a guarantee of entry, as the decision ultimately lies with the border officer, who will consider the individual's case at the point of entry.
